Pitch changing in seperate programs?
Well, my computer plays things from the internet browser, Firefox correctly...
And the same for other normal programs. But, when I open up a client for an online game of mine, the pitch of every sound and music in that game is lowered a pitch or two... Any advice? |

Re: Pitch changing in seperate programs?
That is a strange problem. Does it only happen for that specific game? If so, I would check for anyone else having the same problem with that game (perhaps there is a patch, although this solution is doubtful. Also, you could try a reinstall the game. If this is a problem with other applications though, then don't bother reinstalling them because the problem will likely be with the card. If this is the case, you could try an update/reinstall your drivers.
Has this problem been going on ever since you had the game or did it start happening recently? Last edited by dduckett; 06-07-2009 at 07:39 AM. |

And hello, RiskyOne I have no rememberance of my actual make and model, but... From what I can see from looking around and about my computer is that it is a DELL XPS 400... No idea about the sound card though. And, nobody i've talked to in-or-out of the game seems to have this problem. |

Re: Pitch changing in seperate programs?
Have you looked in the sound configuration (right click on the sound icon
of the audio device on the taskbar and go to properties) to see if it is configured correctly? Go into device manager and look under, sounds, audio and game controllers What is the sound device here? Note: Where does your speakers plug into in the back of your pc? Choices: to the motherboard sound?...or...to a slot near the bottom of pc? Heres a pic of sound jacks on rear of pc: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/268/4
