[SOLVED] problems with adjusting volume in realtek

for some reason I cant turn my mic volume up in realtek. I open up realtek and go to the mixer tab.then I go to mic volume and turn it up. then whatever I say in to the mic goes through my headphones. so I turn that down then put on mic boost. which helps a little but not really.I need a way to turn my mic volume up. I have even looked in windows sound. everything is turned up. I have my mic plugged in to the back of my computer because front one doesn't work. so I am guessing the tab that says front mic wouldn't help. but when I turn that one down then no volume with come out.I am so confused and tired of 20 buttons that do the same thing. anyone with any ideas please help

Could be wrong, but this problem sounds similar to another recent post. h8gambit suggested this link:

Re: problems with adjusting volume in realtek

Hello and Welcome to TSF,

What jack are you plugging the mic into? in back of pc?
or what color is it?

Note: Realtek considers the mic output rather then input,
you have to mute microphone under output in your system settings.

Re: problems with adjusting volume in realtek

ok I did that. I get four tabs at the top. volume, sounds, audio, voice and hardware. I am assuming you go to voice? Do I click on voice playback volume or voice recording volume.? here is a picture.

Re: problems with adjusting volume in realtek

Press the advanced button under playback and you should get a box in the upper left hand screen, here is where you need to make the adjustment.
