Software has disabled the Right Channel on my sound card.
Howto: Download the program here. It's called "Home Audiometer Hearing Test Software. Install it, and setup the program to do tone tests. The left side will work, the right side will work for about 2 minutes and then stop working. Your sound card now only produces sound on the left channel and none at the right. Reinstalling the sound drivers will not work, restarting the computer won't work.
You can use any audio equipment, only the left speakers will produce sound. Semi-"Solution": Pull out the jack just enough so that it still works, but doesn't fall out. Produces sound from both channels but packs it all into the left speaker. Help ![]() Realtek Soundcard

Re: Software has disabled the Right Channel on my sound card.
Okay nevermind, I can already see that the only way to fix this is to reinstall windows, again =(
Sound works correctly in Linux, so it's not the sound card, it's just windows being wierd after experiencing some silly tones, thanks anyway. |

Re: Software has disabled the Right Channel on my sound card.
Hello and Welcome to TSF,
you may have the wrong driver installed for sound? make and model of pc? Note: its probably not necessary to reinstall the windows, just to fix the sound. Are you using a genuine copy of xp windows?

Re: Software has disabled the Right Channel on my sound card.
My right channel was disabled, but i fixed it now. The connection was loose, i have a splitter for speaker and head phones. Turned it a little while listening to a song and static came threw the right channel and sound started coming threw in the other speaker. If sound crackles it just could be the connection wires to your sound card. It came loose and i didnt even touch it.
