Installed New Sound Card; Hearing Sound Through 2 Sources
Yesterday I purchased a Creative - Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 External USB Sound Card from Best Buy so that I could get a much higher quality sound for my music that I play through my home theater system. The installation was a breeze, but whenever I went to play music, I was hearing music through my home theater speakers, but wasn't able to use my SRS Audio Soundbox software that was previously enhancing the sound.
Is there a way to use my SRS Audio Soundbox software with my new external soundcard? Whenever I tried testing both options under the "Sounds" section, I could hear the new sound card's sound through my home theater speakers, but the SRS just through my laptop speakers. |

Re: Installed New Sound Card; Hearing Sound Through 2 Sources
No problem on the bump, if it were anywhere else on TSF you would have had a response by the end of the day.
![]() You did mean SRS Audio Sandbox? What's your connection to your Home Theater? SPDIF? Does Creative show up in Sandbox? I don't have any real world experience with Sandbox, just read about it so I can't say for sure, but have you looked at your options for SPDIF in Creative's software. You might not be able to output more than just 2 channel audio and any other effects might not pass thru SPDIF. Of course, I would expect the same for your laptop and if you have SPDIF connections on your laptop than that is a mute point. Pauldo |
