Hello,
Here is the setup: A T61 lenovo laptop connected to external Samsung TV/Monitor T260HD. I've connected the headphones jack of the laptop to the monitor (has its own speakers), and then the monitor's headphone jack connected to an AIWA DVD/CD player system that came with its own speaker. Obviously, I've done this setup to leverage the better speakers of the AIWA system as the monitor speakers are hopeless. Now the problem: When I play TV, the sound is fantastic. There is extremely extremely minimal static, (it doesn't warrant a new purchase of speakers) When I play the computer video or music files i get static. Funny thing is that static always happens in the same part/duration of the music or video file. Its not just random. I don't get this static when I play the same files on the computer without any connections. Or even when I output the laptop sound to the monitor, I don't get the static. So I am thinking that the speakers are buggered. So I tried a few things with them: I played the audio system stand alone like some FM, and notice there is no static, or atleast no noticeable static to my ears. So now I am thinking speakers are fine, something is messy when computer is routed to this external system. Any suggestions what could go wrong? I put the volume to 0 and notice there was VERY slight hiss sound (no matter what's connected). I know hiss is a normal noise for a speaker. The static only appears to happen when computer files are played. Is there some way to analyze why the same files produce static on external speakers but dont produce static while played on laptop speakers. Thanks in advance, |
