Sound is messing up my computer
Alright, here is the problem.
As soon as I turn on a sound input, all 4 of my cpu cores spike to 100% usage and stay there. Any ideas? I am using a logitech orbit cam/mic. I don't know if it is a coincidence or what, but this started the day I installed my new ram. |

Re: Sound is messing up my computer
Thanks for the bump, I completely missed your reply. Sorry about that.
So have you actually seen the ventrilo or skype process in Task manager using 100% cpu? Just want to double check that it isn't something else conflicting with those two programs. What anti-virus are you running? Try turning off your anti-virus and see what happens. For Skype, some people seem to have good luck by turning off ports 80 and 443 and using the default port 12871. Double check that you don't have speech recognition enabled. Let me know if those helped. Pauldo |

Re: Sound is messing up my computer
Alright, none of that worked. I switched off the microphone I was using and turned on a different one and now no problem.
I then tried updating the drivers for the microphone that may be causing it, but that did nothing. Weird |
