No audio device, this device cannot start (Code 10)
Hiya!
I'm sick of my computer atm. I know that there are many threads with No audio device, but i'll give it a shot. I had a Trojan that destroyed my win xp pro so I reinstalled win xp. Afterwards I had no audio and when I go in to Sound And Audio Devices it says "No Audio Device" I have installed my Soundcard and update the driver, motherboard and windows. HP Pavilion d1000 Win XP Professional 1 GB Ram Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 GHZ Service Pack 3. Sound Card: Creative SoundBlaster Audigy2 ZS Mother Board: ASUS PTGD1-LA |

Re: No audio device, this device cannot start (Code 10)
Have you looked in your BIOS to see if onboard audio is disabled?
Try removing your Audigy card from the computer. reboot. re-install your audio card. How did you update your Creative driver? Thru windows? Can you post a screen shot of Device Manager with Sound, video and game controllers section open? Thanks Pauldo |

I recognize that in BIOS I think I have done it, but I can try again. |

Re: No audio device, this device cannot start (Code 10)
So it looks like you have the wrong driver for your Audigy card on there, have you tried looking on Creatives website for newer drivers? For things like sound cards and graphics cards, it is best to go to your manufacturers website for drivers instead of letting windows find a driver for you (the exception would be if it is really old hardware, which your Audigy is not quite old enough yet
)Here is the link to Creative's download page. Should be localized to Sweden but if it is not then there is a link at the top right to choose your location. http://support.creative.com/Products...=Sound+Blaster Make sure to uninstall the Sound Blaster 16 from both the Device Manager and in Add and Remove Programs, first, before you install the one from Creative. Hopefully that will remove the other yellow ? marks as well. Let me know if you still have errors in Device Manager. Pauldo |
