[SOLVED] Use usb speakers with 3.5 jacfk speakers same time.
My soundcard is realtek hd audio and my pc has allot of jack spots in the back for side spakers and subs and all that. I have the jack plugged into the standard spot right now. I just got usb speakers with my wirless keyboard and mouse. I wonder if i can use have sound come from the usb speakers and the standard 3.5 jack out? Just cuz i think i would sound cool. My pc has 6 jacks on the back and two in the front. The two in the front are mic in and headphones out. The back has those two plus 4 others. I have the 3.5 jack speaker hooked in the back into the (headphone) standard 3.5 mm jack spot(green) and when i hook in the usb speakers the sound automatically comes from the usb speakers.

Re: Use usb speakers with 3.5 jacfk speakers same time.
Don't really know myself as I don't have experience with usb speakers but my guess is that you can't.
What little I have read up on that subject talks about how, just as you have experienced, sound is automatically switched to the usb speakers. Depends, I guess, on what type of usb speakers you have but most have a 'soundcard' integrated into them so Windows is going to see them as a discreet audio device. If this is the case than the only way I can see to do this is to use Winamp and create two output plug-ins for Winamp to use. Keep in mind that doing this may produce some timing issues as the two audio output streams may be out of sync. Search Winamp for using 2 sound cards and you should get a guide that tells you how to do this. Hope that helps. Pauldo |
