Re: Poor sound quality in Play tv usb 415
The only light weight programs that I have experience with are WinTV2000, Dscaler and MPC-Home Cinema. These have limited supported hardware so not sure if it will work with what you have. WinTV2000 would be the first thing I would try, even though it is made by Hauppauge it is supposed to work with other tuner cards.
I guess you could also try AMCAP, but I don't know how much better the sound would be as it is just a preview application and it doesn't support digital tuner cards, as far as I know. There are several dvr style programs out there that would defenitely give you better sound but they are a bit more involved. These include SageTV, BeyondTV, Microsoft Media Center all of which cost money. MediaPortal is an open source project that I currently use but this one takes some time to set-up properly (it is free). You will want to check to see if your particular tuner card is supported, however, before you jump into any of those. Hope that helps. Pauldo |
