"What you hear" Option

Hi, i have two computer that i use for blogtv.com on one of em, i have this option to put on "What You Hear".. That makes the viewers of mine only be able to hear what im playing on Winamp or WMP... On my other computer... I dont have that "What you hear" option.

Is there such a software that could do the same thing?

Re: "What you hear" Option

Often times that is called Stereo Mix as well.

It has to do with your hardware/drivers and I have seen many of these issues go away with a driver update (assuming that there is one for your situation).

If you have trouble finding drivers than post your specs and I can try and run them down.

Re: "What you hear" Option

Your specs are the make and model # of the computer you are having trouble with. Model # is typically found on the back of the computer. Make could probably be there as well although they typically like to put a logo on the front of the case.

If it is a custom build then we need the name of the motherboard manufacturer. If you do not know this than download SystemSpec in my sig and it should list it there.

Thanks

Re: "What you hear" Option

Here is the link to the audio driver download page for your Gateway: http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/getFile.asp?id=20708&dscr=Audio%20Driver%20Version:%205.10.0.5211&uid=223035795

It's an old one but it is a second release so hopefully it does the trick (and it's newer than what you have). There are install instructions for this driver, if that helps.

Let me know how it goes.

Re: "What you hear" Option

That's not what I wanted to hear.

Let's try these drivers, instead: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...

Download either the zip or the Executable file, doesn't really matter, for Windows XP (in green) and install.

Let me know how it goes.

Re: "What you hear" Option

Just checking here but have you looked to see if you need to enable the Stereo Mix control? You can do this a number of ways, one of which is Control Panel -->Sound and Audio Devices --> Audio tab. Click on Volume button under Sound Recording. In the Recording Control window that pops up Click on the Options menu. Hopefully you will have an entry for Stereo Mix. If so, check it and click OK.

If no go, than you will need to use something like this: Virtual Audio Cable

Hope you have Stereo Mix in there.

Re: "What you hear" Option

I have never used the program myself. Just seen people talk about it. There should be documentation that comes with it that will tell you how to get started.

Also found this online: http://www.niharsworld.com/2008/06/16/use-virtual-audio-cable-vac-to-solve-missing-stereo-mix-problem/
