Audgity 2 sound card not working vista

ok so i just recently just bought a audgity 2 sound card so i put it in and they wouldnt work in my 2 ports so i put it in my one pci express slot and it showed up in my device manager so i put the disk in and tried installing drivers but it kept saying that it couldnt find an audgity 2 sound card or something like that but i havnt activated my windows vista code the 30 day activation is over so i dont think it will let me install drivers right so i went back to device manager and went to check for updates and it found em and installed so it said restart so i did and it comes back and its says finiazing audgity 2 drivers or something but then it says program not responding and closes but the programs are still there to use but i click em and they just say not responding and closes for it all????? and i tried installing the vista drivers but still nothing :( is this cuz i have vista unactivated so should i reinstall my Windows xp professional service pack 3.

You need to get windows activated in order for it work correctly why is it not activated?

becaouse i had it when i first got my comp then switched to xp then went back to vista and entered my code and it said the code was like invalid or sumtin

You need to get that taken care of first if there is a sticker on the case and you have used the correct version to reinstall with, then a call to Microsoft will get you up and running. It is pretty painless and will only take a couple of minutes just follow the instructions for phone activation.
