Annoying microphone problem
Hi, I'm running on a custom built PC with the following specs:
Pentium D 830 3.0GHz (overclocked to 3.3GHz) 2 x 512MB DDR2 533MHz memory ASUS P5WD2 Premium motherboard XFX NVIDIA 8600GT 256MB 200GB Western Digital hard drive Windows XP SP3 with all updates KWorld Multimedia Lite PCI TV Tuner I have onboard Realtek HD audio. My problem is that each time I reboot my PC my mic doesn't record absolutely anything, unless I go to the realtek control panel, change the device plugged in to the pink port (the mic) to something else (for example, speakers or line in) and then change it back to a mic. Then, it works. I have no idea when this started happening, but it's been bothering me for a while. I updated the drivers yesterday, and no luck. I've been OCing my CPU since I had the PC so I know that's not a problem. Thanks in advance for the help! EDIT: I've just discovered that the mic actually picks up sound before I do the workaround trick, but it can NOT record, it only plays the sound it picks up through the speakers when I unmute the "Rear Pink In" from the Realtek control panel. Still, the mic can't record so it's useless :P Last edited by Rodox; 02-04-2009 at 02:54 PM. |
