New Speakers but intergrated sound
I saw these speakers on sale, not at this store, but this one has a lot of information and reviews. Anyways, I was interested in purchasing them, but some reviews suggest it's much better with a sound card.
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...=ITD&body=MAIN I was wondering how it would fare up with intergrated sound. I am currently using the speakers that are built into the 22" HP monitor I have. Not very good, or loud, I cannot hear the sound while eating a pizza at the computer (I even tried headphones for direct sound, it was awful). http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...692730&lang=en That is the motherboard specifications from the manufacturer of my computer (not their motherboard, but has all the information). Hope someone can get back to me soon, I'll probably go out in an hour or so, gotta return a defective RAM stick and I'd pick these up if anyone says they're alright. I think they are the same price at the store I plan to get them from, but I believe I have a gift card there. |

Re: New Speakers but intergrated sound
The board has *
Audio CODEC: ALC888S * 7.1 channel high-definition audio Not a bad spec I would give the speakers a try I'll bet you'll like it. |

Re: New Speakers but intergrated sound
Hey, great to see you again Wrench. I will pick them up while I'm out today and see how they fare. I'm really just looking for something decent within a decent price range. It's definitely not that expensive and the reviews are great. My room isn't that large, like a 13x13 feet, something around that, so I don't need something too powerful, just to listen to music, play games and watch the occasional movie.
Thanks for all the help again Wrench. |

Re: New Speakers but intergrated sound
And indeed they are. Hooked them up as soon as I got home. Then warmed up the Pizza I had bought, and started watching The Prestige (I had seen half but never bothered to finish, which I am GLAD I did, what a movie). Anyways, no complaints about the sound. More than loud enough for my room, and there's no complaints on it either, well, maybe cable length, though I'll work with finding a solid configuration.
