No sound out of Rear and Centre Speakers
Hi all,
First time poster, so please let me know if I need to include anymore information other than what I've written. I recently installed Windows Vista (and SP1) onto my homebuilt computer. When I was running XP, all was good, but now I'm finding that I don't get sound out of my rear speakers. My specs MOBO: DFI Corp,LTD LP NF4 Series 1.0 Sound Card: Creative SB Live! 5.1 On Board Sound Card: NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio Speakers: Creative Inspire 5.1 5300 When I go into control panel -> Sounds -> Configure (SB card in 5.1 mode) I get sound out of the Front left, Front right, and sub, but when the rear and centre speaker sounds go off they come through the front left and right instead. I'm certain I have the speakers plugged in correctly. I've tried asking windows to update the sound card driver, and I'm told that it is up to date. When I try control panel -> sounds -> configure (with the onboard sound output) I don't have the option for 5.1 - only stereo speakers and I don't know how to change that. Both sound outputs seem to have the same coloured plugs. I hope I've been clear. Thanking you all in advance, Cody |
