Now i play with a merc stealth keyboard with sound mute and volume controls on it.. I get jumped by another player and a fight starts, in my panic i hit the mute sound button on my keyboard. I unmute after the fight and continue life. Shortly thereafter i realize that my mp3 player isnt playing music anymore, how odd! I also notice that ive lost the ability to play audio in vlc media player, or youtube in mozilla etc.. but!! the audio in world of warcraft is working perfect still. I should mention that all these symptoms persist regardless of wether or not the Warcraft client is running. Device manager tells me everything is properly installed with zero conflicts, but in > control panel > sounds and audio devices, its telling me i have no audio device selected for anything. Nor does it give me an option to select anything as its grayed out. I reboot and everything is fine again,,yay! Right up until i start watching a video or 2 on the computer or turn on winamp, then suddenly i lose it all again. Sometimes the audio sounds like its slightly garbled when i try listening to a media file.(almost like an echoing fade in and out sound) This includes watching videos on youtube, but again and oddly, the Audio in world of warcraft works fine. Now this could be a coincidence but i have noticed since this started that when the audio finally cuts out , the time on my taskbar(clock) will push itself upward a little, and the day of the week will appear beneath it? then it goes away and its just the time again,, now this is something ive never ever seen before and it seems like a bizzarre thing that could be related. Ive tried reinstalling the latest soundmax drivers with no luck, i tried reinstalling the older soundmax drivers that game with the mobo, no luck. I tried uninstalling the merc keyboard software and kboard itself, then reinstalling the audio drivers again without the keyboard installed with no luck. I tried installing the latest UAA drivers with no luck. Ive done thorough virus scans and adaware checks in and out of safe mode with nothing found. Ok thanks for reading, any help or suggestions or ideas would be appreciated greatly, thanks. |
