Re: Installed XP PRO, Sound Not Working
Thanks for the screenshots.
It does appear thet everything is installed. Do you have a speaker Icon in the lower right corner of your desktop? If so Left click on it and see if it is muted and the volume bar is above midrange. Bill |

Re: Installed XP PRO, Sound Not Working
Shut down and reboot the PC.
Enter the BIOS and see if ON-Baord Audio (AC97) is Enabled. Check you speaker connections and make sure the connection is seated in the proper connector and your Speaker Power is on. Does the Audio Device show up in Sound and Audio in your Control Panel under Volume? Similar to this (See attachment circled in red). Yours may say AC97. Thanks, Bill |

Re: Installed XP PRO, Sound Not Working
Do you get any type of sound from playing a CD or using any other program?
Was XP SP2 installed before you updated to XP SP3? Bill |

Re: Installed XP PRO, Sound Not Working
I had a recent problem today with My XFI Extreme Gamer card with no sound. I just went in to the device manager and uninstalled the drivers for the onboard sound and the speakers began to work fine. Too many drivers conflicting with eachother. All good now.

Re: Installed XP PRO, Sound Not Working
Hi,
Go into ADD/Remove programs Uninstall your sound driver/program if there Do this also in your Device Manager (right click on Vinyl AC97.....uninstall) Reboot the PC. If the new Hardware wizard appears hit cancel. Go to this site and download the Audio Driver: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...ProductID=1777 Install this driver. Let me know how you make out. Thanks, Bill |
