My System

*crackle beep crackle beep!*

So now this PC's soud doesnt work. If any of you dont know it was custom built for me, and if you guys cant find a solution, I'm going to get the builder to fix it. Here are my specs:

Code:
500GB HDD
480W X-Power PSU
9600 GT
4GB RAM
vista basic 32 bit (Genuine)
And the sound card is C-Media CM6501
Now I've installed all the correct drivers, and I've tried every driver for the sound card, and even done a System Restore to when it was OK to no avail.

Basically, it's been alright for a couple of months, but a week a go, in the middle of COD4, it all turned to really loud "crackling" noises, like when you havent set your TV to the right feed. It did this whenever a soud came up, like when you turn your volume up, instead of the normal "beep" at the end it's more like a very loud *crackle crackle, weird futuristic noise*. Then, all of a sudden, a few days a go, I restarted, and poof! it was gone, everything was good. Until this moring when it happened again. I've done everything I've done before, and it hasn't worked. It might go OK again by itself, but if it does, I'm sure it will happen again.

PS
Oh and I've checked all the connections and re-done them

Re: *crackle beep crackle beep!*

Is that onboard or usb?

If it is onboard, look at your temps.
