Re: NO sound after installation of XP SP2
and welcome to the ForumYou need to load the Motherboard drivers. Be sure to install the Chipset driver first, then the others in any order. You can find them on the motherboard manufacturers web site.

Re: NO sound after installation of XP SP2
Hp/Compaq what?
There should be a tag on the computer that specifies the model #. If this is a PC it is usually located on the Side or back of the tower. If it is a laptop it would be on the bottom PC: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...t_page=product Laptop: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...&product=18073 Thanks, Bill |

Re: NO sound after installation of XP SP2
Hi,
your Drivers are here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...ID=1098#113165 BUT, you need to load the Chipset driver first. Install in the order I give you please. Chipset Driver: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...tem=ir-45530-1 Video: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...tem=ir-46907-1 UAA Driver: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport..._I23303-108286 Audio Driver: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport..._I23778-109040 If this PC is not connected to the internet you may have to use a PC that is and download and Burn these drivers to a CD or use a flash drive. This will leave you with the USB Modem. I need to know if you have the disk for this modem. If not I will need the make and model of this Modem. Thanks, Bill |

Re: NO sound after installation of XP SP2
Yes,
The links are posted in order for what you need to install. Start with the Chipset driver and work your way down the list. Once they are installed go back to the device manager and post any remaning errors Bill Last edited by BCCOMP; 12-10-2008 at 04:36 PM. |

Re: NO sound after installation of XP SP2
You may have a different Video card.
Go to the Device Manager Right Click on the Video error>Go to Properties>Go to Details Tab. Post the VEN/DEV numbers you have under Device Instance ID. You can continue with the UAA Driver and Audio driver. Bill |
