Surround Sound Problems and Center Speaker Buzzing Noise
Hello,
I just lately had to format my Windows XP Pro machine and have been having problems with getting my audio to work properly. I'm not sure if it is relevant to detail from the beginning, but maybe so... My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9 and I use the onboard sound from that. When I installed the OS in past times, I had installed XP then the motherboard drivers before upgrading to Service Pack 2. I no longer have a copy of XP without SP2 streamlined with it. That's the only thing I can think of that was different, but I couldn't get the drivers to work from that so I tried DriverAgent and it linked me to a Gigabyte driver that I installed. When I installed it, it works fine in the Realtek HD Audio Manager like before. I can get all the speakers to play sound and the tests all work out fine, but my media players will only play through the front speakers and subwoofer. As I was working on it, it has started making a buzzing sound in the center speaker so I have muted that one for now. I hope it's all one problem and not multiple ones. I don't know much about speakers. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Surround Sound Problems and Center Speaker Buzzing Noise
Nevermind... *hangs head* I feel so silly. I clicked on Dolby Pro Logic 2 option and it worked. I'm posting this in case it helps anyone. I feel silly...
![]() I still have a buzzing sound problem with my center speakers though. Last edited by Krivvin; 12-09-2008 at 02:55 PM. |
