Re: No sound after installation
You could try this if you have sp2 installed.uninstall sb from add/remove programs and device manager. download uaa [microsoft audio bus driver] drivers from here
http://forum.jayceooi.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21 install uaa reinstall sb drivers. also disable onboard sound in bios

Hey there...
Follow hitech advice and by the way, after sound card installation check what is the primary device in Audio options [Sound Playback]... Keep us posted... |

Re: No sound after installation
i have SP3
and when i went to download that file it gave me this "setup has detected that the service pack version of this system is newer than the update you are applying there is no need to install this update" also after i installed my SB Audigy 5.1 i went into my system BIOS and seen that my audio was disabled so i set it to auto. and when i came back my PC said it detected new hardware (Multimedia audio controller) and so i went and put back my sounblaster disc and then it said it cannot find the file and was unable to install the driver. I went to check them in devise manager and under other devises i have 2 Multimedia audio controllers with ? and a ! yellow color. |

Re: No sound after installation
Could you please provide us with your system specifications????
Uninstall sound drivers and restart PC... Install drivers again... Are you sure you are installing correct drivers [I know it sounds odd, but their site is retarded to me] By the way, do you have drivers that came with sound card??? |

Re: No sound after installation
you enabled onboard sound in bios, so go back to bios and disable it. I would uninstall any sound drivers that are there in add/remove programs and in device manager. install the last uaa driver I posted and then install your sound blaster.
