Hello,
I was wondering if the soundcard on a computer effects the sound quality of a audio recording.. For some reason when I record analog to digital through my interface i hear some distortion.. its not a clean recording. do I need a New soundcard to get a crisper more exact recording??? or Is my new interface or equipment the one causing the distortion? I havent considered buying new cable yet, but thinking about it.. Im trying to record off a keyboard, through the headphone/output with a quarter inch cable. which is going direct into interface.. |

Re: does the soundcard effect an audio recording?
You can download and run Everest (see my sig). It will tell you what audio device you have installed.
The reason why I had asked was to see if it wasn't a driver issue. Most likely is not the case but sometimes it is. Plus if you are using onboard audio than you definitely will want to upgrade to a card meant for recording. If you do have onboard, than give me a budget and I can give you some ideas of what you are looking at. Pauldo |

Re: does the soundcard effect an audio recording?
dont worry about that last one ill just have o deal with it later.
i pulled up device manager an saw that the two audio usb audio devices had a X through them.. so i tryed to update drive with the CD in computer.. i got an error (code22)... so i googled it an this is what it said This error is occurs when no IRQs are available on the system and either the BIOS or Windows disables the device. A red X should be apparent on the adapter in device manager, and in the properties window the "disable from all hardware profiles" box should be checked. To resolve this issue the Ethernet adapter will have to be completely uninstalled from the system and some reosurces will have to be freed up on the system before the Ethernet adapter can be properly instaled (changing the PCI slots may also solve the issue). not sure if this has anything to do with me not being able to connect to the internet?? or my sound issues?? |
