Strange Sound card / RCA issues
Have a very strange sound card issue, hope someone can help...
I've just moved into a flat which has speakers built into the ceiling, and a 3RCA socket in the wall. I thought this would be input for the speakers so I hooked my PC up to it with a 3RCA/phono lead. Nothing happened. I subsequently found out form the landlord that it's actually an output (he seems to have no idea about these things - like me) for TV. THe upshot of this is that since doing this my computer can't play any sound - my original speakers just hum when I plug them into my PC, and no sound at all comes out of the headphone jack. Has his stupid RCA system fried my sound card or something? What on earth has gone on? Thanks in advance for any advice. |
