Re: My Sound Doesn't Work!!!!
Hi Radeon1600,
What is the make and model of this computer? Do you have any errors in the Device Manager? What version/SP is your operating system? What is your new sound card (Make/Model)? Bill |

Re: My Sound Doesn't Work!!!!
Hi,
In your Device Manager the errors will show with a yellow!. Do you know the Model number of the Foxconn motherboard? Does the motherboard have On-Board sound? Uninstall all sound card drivers in Add/Remove Programs and in the Device Manager. Install the UAA Driver: http://www.mediafire.com/?4ben9zlesng Your sound card is a C-Media Try this Driver: http://www.download.com/C-Media-CMI8...dlPid=10495783 Extract the driver to folder and run the Setup exe. Let me know how you make out. Bill |

Re: My Sound Doesn't Work!!!!
Hi,
I need to narrow this board down and see what you have for hardware. Can you run Everest under my signature and attach the report to the thread. Bill |

Re: My Sound Doesn't Work!!!!
Hi Radeon1600,
Sorry TSF does not support E-mail or other options to resolve issues. If you can run Everest and attach the report to the thread it will help me "see" what hardware you have so I can give you the correct driver to resolve this issue. I know you maybe frustrated, but the prior info you have given does not allow me to "see" what you have. Please be patient. Bill |

Re: My Sound Doesn't Work!!!!
Hi Radeon1600,
I need the full report attached as it does not state all your Hardware. Also you have XP Media Center addition and from what I can "see" from the quick report with NO SP. You will need SP2 (Do Not install SP3 Yet). Bill |

Re: My Sound Doesn't Work!!!!
Hi,
Thanks for the report. You have Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition Service Pack 2. If there are no issues with your motherboard, you have a Realtek AC97 Audio ON-Board Audio. Remove Any PCI Audio cards (ADD On sound CARDS) you have installed You need to remove ALL previous sound drivers in ADD/Remove Programs and in the Device Manager. Run this program to remove any traces of "old" sound drivers: http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/ Once this is done Go into your BIOS Setup and besure your ON-BOARD sound (AC97) is Enabled) Go to this site and install Q8881111 for SP2: http://geekswithblogs.net/lorint/arc.../11/81540.aspx Your sound driver is here: http://www.foxconnchannel.com/suppor...D=en-us0001191 Extract the driver to a folder and run the Setup exe. file or http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/...&GetDown=false Let me know how you make out. Re: My Sound Doesn't Work!!!!
Your mutlimedia audio control is your Sound Card.
If drive sweeper did not find anything then you should be ok. Just besure to install the drivers (in order) that I posted in thread #13. Bill |

Re: My Sound Doesn't Work!!!!
Usually by hitting a key (ex. DEL, ESC, F1, F2) upon booting up the PC, but before you enter windows.
You model may tell you to press such a key when you first Boot up the PC. Bill |
