Scratchy hiss, blips from speakers on Toshiba satelite p100
I own a Satellite Pro p100 which has a high definition audio device (realtek) running with windows xp pro.
It makes a low hiss on the internal speakers when the volume is up full without anything playing or opened, just windows. With the headphone jack plugged into an amplifier and 100watt speakers it is amplified massively and aditional blips and scratches come through, like scanning a cb or radio. these noises are affected by actions in windows like moving the mouse, opening dvd tray... I also have a edirol fa66 firewire sound card which has the same problems. The low hiss is bareable but the other noises when plugged into speakers is completely overwhelming the music i play. These scratchy, blippy noises disappear when the power is disconnected at the mains, I've tried using seperate sockets for laptop and amplifier but this doesnt affect it. These noises also come through without the volume on laptop being turned up, but without the low hiss. Sorry about the scatty description. If anyone has any advice that doesnt involve buying ferrite teroids (i wouldnt be able to wrap a 10k rig around them) that would be amazing... Last edited by z'etiket; 11-19-2008 at 03:54 AM. |
