Trojan infected sound information
My gf has a windows XP. And i had not long ago gave her some anti virus software, because her old ones expireded or something. About a couple of weeks after i gave it to her. (Avast antivirus) this is what happened. Quoted from her.
"I went to check my email, for the job interview I was suppose to go to on wednesday. So when I did, the computer froze because a video was loading on the site, and Shado was signing in on MSN, plus you was sending me messaging. So I closed off everything, and I noticed the my anti-virus thing wasn't working, so I decided to check on it, and it said a virus has been found. i still had sound and everything at the mean time. It told me to restart to computer so it can do a full scan. So that is what i did. many of my file was effected by this trojan. and my sound information was one of them. I tried to repair..but an error keep on coming on.. everytime i click on repair, and then it said it can not be repaired. So I had no choice but to delete it. i didn't know what really happen. After the scan I signed in i noticed something was wrong.. there was no sound because I would had heard the welcome XP music. So after everything loaded, I went to sound audio in the control panel and it was saying no audio. So I try to found my name of my speaker which is called Crystal Audio Codec. I found it but it saying it it would not start (error 12) So I tried the troubleshooting, and that didn't work. I thought I install it again. but i didn't. I don't know when it was brought it came with a CD, because it used to be my friends, so I didn't know. DeAndre (stepbrother) told me to do a upgrade, and it will install it for me. but it was error when it was trying to do it. so I gave up on that. Then.. I used other speakers that i found downstairs, and those didn't work. and that is it. I havent done anything else since then" Can anyone help with this situation? I recommended she do system restore. But the virus still might had infected the file before that time and possibly just activated at that moment remaining dorment until the anti virus picked it up. And need a way to restore it just in case she does it and runs into dejavu all over again. |

Re: Trojan infected sound information
Avast Antivirus run in the boot sector.while running it give alert for virus in the correct path.If you the delete the path,it will delete the file in the program file.so if trogan is infected in sound file, that is already deleted.so you have reinstall software of the sound card.So i think you can solve this problem.
