Re: Tecra A7 no sound

When you reformatted, did you use the discs that came with the computer? If not what did you use.

What does it say under Control Panel --> Sounds and Audio Devices --> Audio --> Sound playback?

Re: Tecra A7 no sound

This is probably not it but go to Start --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Component Services --> Services and look for Windows Audio. It should have a Startup Type of Automatic and be started. If, by chance, that it is not, switch it to automatic and start her up.

Re: Tecra A7 no sound

Well, sound properties that are greyed out usually means that the audio drivers are not installed, not installed correctly or corrupted. Have you tried re-installing the audio drivers?
If that doesn't work, try un-installing your sound 'card', rebooting and installing audio drivers. If that doesn't work try audio drivers directly from Realtek.

If that doesn't work, hopefully someone else can suggest something as I am running out of ideas.
