Headset not working

I recently replaced my motherboard in my PC and am now having trouble with my headphone. I have a headphone/mic in one and the headphone sound works fine but the mic doesn't seem to be working at all. I just bought the headphone/mic and it worked fine on the motherboard I use to have so I don't think the headset is broke. Ive tried the volume controls and everything I can think of but still nothing. Any troubleshooting ideas?
