[SOLVED] Is this an upgrade?

I am currently running with my on board sound on my Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe. I was able to get a hold of a Sound Blaster Audigy EAX Advanced HD sound card (model no. SB0090). I currently have Bose computer speakers hooked up to the on board, and I'm just wondering if going with the sound card would give me upgraded sound.

If not, I can probably sell it.

Re: Is this an upgrade?

The main difference is that the audigy is a 7.1 channel and the onboard for the mobo above is a 8 channel, its all basically about the options of channels around you for surround sound, but in all honesty you probably wouldnt even notice the difference between the 7.1 and 8 channel so i'd leave it running off the mobo onboard, and sell it (or keep it as a backup as I've had a few ASUS onboards die on me in my time).
