Windows Vista Sound Problems
Seeing as i'm not sure what exactly the problem is, I'm unsure which forum to post this in, but since it's also a sound error, I figured this place would be my best shot.
I built my computer in late june of this year with the following specs: -XFX NVidia 780i motherboard -Intel Q6600 -4Gb ddr2 800 RAM -2x WD 320Gb HD's in RAID 0 -XFX Nvidia 9600GT PCI-e 512mb GPU -Corsair 750W PSU -Windows Vista 32-bit SP1 Up until now everything has worked great, but recently while watching videos online, the sound started cutting out at seemingly random intervals. Since this happened on Youtube I decided to check to see if flash was the culprit. So I reinstalled flash player and even installed flash player 10 beta to try that. Needless to say, it didn't work. I then decided it might have been a driver issue. I uninstalled my current drivers through device manager and reinstalled the vista Realtek audio drivers through my motherboard's CD. It seemed to work at first, but shortly after it started doing it again. I'm running out of ideas, so I challenge al you guru's of computer wisdom to help me fix it XD. Edit** It also Sometimes doesn't completely cut out, but rather sound very distorted and robotic. I have also tried a system restore to the earliest point and that helps little as well.
