OS: Vista SP1 32 Bit Home Premium
|
I have a new laptop, Dell Studio 1735. Here are the specs: Vista SP1 Home Premium 32-bit, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz, 3 GB RAM.
I have installed the X-Fi Surround 5.1 and connect to either headphones or my 2.1 Creative Speakers. My problem is that when I listen to iTunes or DVD's (i use windows media player for DVDs), I get these periodic interruptions (cracks/pops) that occur a few times during a typical song. There is no rhyme nor reason to these interruptions that I can determine. Also, when I first installed the sound card, the audio was lagging behind the video when watching DVDs, in addition to the pops/cracks. I was able to fix the lag issue by installing a Beta driver for this sound card off of Creative's support web site. However, even after installing the beta driver, I have not been able to fix the pops/cracks interruptions described above. ![]() Any help would be appreciated. I do have a free express card slot in this notebook and was thinking of trying the Creative X-Fi Notebook Espress Card, but not sure if it will be any improvement over what I have now. Thanks! |
