Re: Speakers are not working Please Help
Hi, and welcome to the forum. The first thing you should do is restart the computer if you haven't already.
then you should check the Device manager. I haven't really used XP in awhile, but you should be able to open the stat menu and get to the control panel there, then in the control panel, you would double click on Device manager. When you are in device manager you are looking for two things. First see if there is any question marks or eplancation marks in there (you should be lead to see them once you open the device manager). Then you also want to look for a listen to do with audio or sound (something realated to that) and see if anything is listed under it. If there is nothing there than that will be the problem. if something is listed there then right click it and go to properties. In properties click on the update driver tab and click update driver. Follow what it says (and allow it to connect to the interne) and let it update if it needs to. If nothing was there, which would be unusal as it should be automatically detected and at worst show a problem, the next thing I think is to found out what sound card it is, and it may either be built into the mother board or a sperate card. Please post back the results good or bad. |
