[SOLVED] HELP! i have no sound and i don't know what tah do;; =/

Well;; I have no sound on my computer and it is driving me C R A Z Y!! I know that I have to download a audio driver.. and I have tryed to download a couple but they wont work because i need to figure out what type of sound card i have to download a driver that is compatable (i think i spelled that right lol) with my sound card. but i can't figure out what type of sound card i have and i have been trying for days to get sound.. i don't want to tear apart my computer trying to look at the sound card because i am a chicken and am scared i will screw somthing up. someone please help me.

Hi,
Download and run this free application, which will audit your system and report on your configuration..........

If it doesn't give you the name of your sound-card, it will at least give the Manufacturer name & Model of computer or Motherboard, which we need in order to find a driver.

Please post back with the Manufacturer & Model of your System, or go to the Manufacturers website, find the Support pages for your PC and download the drivers.

You must uninstall all previous sound/audio drivers from Add or Remove Programs and restart before installing fresh drivers. If you need clearer or step-by-step instructions for installation please do not hesitate to ask.

How did you lose your sound?
Was it a Windows Update?

the driver was deleted.. i would download that thing you recommend but im not real big on downloading stuff.. like my computer has never had anything downloaded to it except adobe. the only reason i am willing to download a driver is because having no sound is killing me... lol

i don't even know if this is the information needed but here is this... is it what i need??

Just click on a download mirror link.

Uninstall any Realtek/AC97 audio/sound drivers from Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel and restart before installing the fresh drivers.

When you restart and windows tries to search for drivers, click on cancel.
Disable any non-microsoft programs or services e.g. anti-virus software etc that are running, install the drivers and restart once again.

(Bear in mind that if you delete files accidentally, you can always restore them from your Recycle Bin, as long as it hasn't been emptied).
