Stereo Mix option is greyed out

Hello. I'm using Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, SP3.

I have a problem with my sound. Under volume control, for "line in/mic in", the "stereo mix" option is greyed out. It shouldn't be. How can I fix this?

Re: Stereo Mix option is greyed out

This thing is unsolved! Does anyone have a slight workaround for it?

Perhaps a little more info: I use an HP desktop PC.
