Re: I reformatted my PC and now there's no sound at all.

Welcome to TSF!

You need to install your motherboard chipset drivers. These will be on the CD that came with your motherboard/computer, else, you can find the chipset drivers here: http://www.viaarena.com/Driver/via_h...npro_v518a.zip
  1. Set a restore point and then download and install chipset drivers.
  2. Restart.
  3. Install device drivers where required.

It is a good idea to save these drivers for future use, especially if you think you will need to reinstall XP at a later date.

Good luck.

Hi and thanks for the help. I have ran the setup and installed the chipset driver you have recommended. What should I do next?

Glad to hear it mate. Probably a good idea to save those drivers on a cd or seperate partition so when you next want to reinstall windows, you can easily find your drivers.
