Sound Card-Graphics Card Conflict
Firstly, I'd like to say hello to everyone. I registered here hoping that the community could help shed some light on a problem that just cropped up.
Here is the System I currently run OS:XP sp2 Motherboard: Asus m2n-e SLI CPU: AMD Athlon 5200+ VGA: XFX 8800GTS 640MB RAM 2*1024 Corsair 800Hz This Afternoon, i bought a Creative X-Fi 7.1 PCIe soundcard. When i went to install it on my PC, I got the BIOS error for 'No Graphics Card Detected'. I thought this might be because of the fact that the Soundcard was covering the fan of the VGA, limiting it's cooling and causing it to not function properly. I removed the soundcard, and the PC booted up as normal. I then tried again, this time with the VGA in the secondary PCI-X slot, which is under the PCIe slots, so that the fan wouldn't be covered. Still, i got the BIOS error code. The PC is running perfectly fine without the graphics card, but I would like to get the card installed as soon as possible. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this conflict? |

Re: Sound Card-Graphics Card Conflict
Reset the motherboard CMOS and shutdown. Then install the sound card in the PCI slot furtherest away from the CPU. Restart.
