Now heres an epic and odd audio problem

This is somthing i have been having trouble with for the past like 4 months. i have scoured the internet for a matching problem.

First my computer is a modified gateway. had windows vista on it but a took windows xp from my old computer. i downloaded driversfor allthe onboard hardware. but i dont think i didit right because of this.

my audio works fine. sounds great. but I cannot disablethe microphone playback. whatever goes into the mic comes out the speakers. its not that bad of a problem but i cannot play games becuas it generates feedback because of the sound of the game. so i goto the playback sound mixer and all i get is:

master wave SW synth CD player

the audio driver is sigmatelon a intel desktop board D945GCNL.

anyone have any suggestions or further questions?
