HP Compaq dx2300 sound querry
I got a HP dx2300 minitower, and i am setting it up for the first time. everything is up, xcept the sound. Something to do with drivers (onboard) and their order of installation, or so i read in some blog which didnt help much. So much for product support! Could anyone who fell into the same bog and lived post. You can include something about it ethernet/network - it gave me a slight migraine. Thanx.

The ether onboard is ACER NIC -559A PRO/100. The sound device is not included in system lists. I have tried the chipset, U.A.A. and realtek drivers, in that order, and still no sound.

Re: HP Compaq dx2300 sound querry
Can you please download and install PC Wizard from my sig. Run it and go to FILE, SAVE AS and click ok. Then copy that text into this thread. Also, can you tell me, did you install the OS or did it come preinstalled?

Re: HP Compaq dx2300 sound querry
Fresh out of tha box. So I did the OS. Guess I should have run the motherboard cd first.
In device manager, sound device doesnt show nowhere, only codecs, legacies and cdrom. The only yellowed thing in there is the network device, ACER NIC 559A pro/100+ with AlertOnLan2. Tells you I am not connected on that comp. In program files, its realtek driver folder is empty, and driver wont reload. Whats with that? Someone told me to uninstall all sound related drivers and reboot in safemode, then reinstall; chipset, UAA, and realtek, in that order. still no sound. Windows media plays, no sound. Cyberlink is dead. Ill do what you say and post. Last edited by mchizie; 08-10-2008 at 08:16 AM. |
