Multi-track Recording Trouble
Okay, so I'm not 100% sure this is a problem with the sound card exactly but I wasn't sure where else to put this. I use Audacity a lot for recording, often recording one part and then using Audacity's ability to record over that to create another part while listening to the first.
The problem is that recently instead of recording as usual it instead, for each additional track that I put on, creates louder and louder static making it almost impossible to hear the recording after only three tracks total sometimes. I'm sure the problem isn't with audacity itself, as I've tried this with several other sound recording programs and had the same trouble. The main issue that I've figured out that's causing this static though, seems to be that the louder the output volume is, the more static occurs, and not because of the microphone picking up more sound from the speakers. Basically, the output is somehow feeding straight into the program and creating static even without the use of a recording device, at least I think. Anyways, any help that you guys could give would be much appreciated, hopefully there's an easy fix I'm just not thinking of, and hopefully I can give this info to a few friends having the same troubles. Thanks in advance! |
