Confused [SOLVED] Bought new speakers, no sound, now old ones won't work either

I just can't figure this one out guys... Help me out?

I bought new speakers for my computer, plugged them in like the manual said and they didn't make a sound. Well, I did get static and that kind of stuff so I know they should work.

Checked everything in Windows; volume, settings... looks ok.

I figured it was another weird thing and just plugged the old ones back in. Guess what? No sound. That leaves out the speakers as the main problem source. Now I've plugged in the new ones again. Rebooting does nothing.

I'm using Vista / Realtek. To my knowledge I have the latest updates.

Idea Fixed it

Oh, just never mind, I fixed it myself.

If anyone has similar problems - just set the system back a few days and it should work. I set mine back by one day and it worked instantly.
