E-mu 1212 - ADAT Issues (Patchmix)
I just got my emu 1212 and am trying to get it work with my adat (alesis blackface). I have the optical cables to the adat and the 1/4" in & out on the daugther card to my mixer.
No matter what session I use in patchmix, even if I create a new one, the only way sound from my adat will play is on I/O L & R strip settings. I cannot get 8 tracks from my adat to ANY of the software that came with the emu: Cubase, Sonar etc. I have tried changing the clock form internal to external. same result.. I'm running XP SP2 and have all the hardware requirements met. When I use the default adat session in Patchmix, there is no sound and nothing shows visually to indicate the sound is getting to the emu via optical cable. I get the appropriate red light at the ends of the cables so I'm guessing they are working. The reason I bought this soundcard was to up/download 8 tracks at a time from adat to pc and vice versa (in real time, I know). But all I can get it to do is play the 8 tracks as a left and right stereo two track. Any help would be appreciated. I'm thinking I'm missing some setting somewhere or jacked something up.. some settings on the patchmix software are grayed out and I'm thnking they shouldn't be. thanks |

Re: E-mu 1212 - ADAT Issues (Patchmix)
I've been very happy with my EMU1202 using both optical SPDIF as well as the analog ins/outs, no problems there.
Untill today, when I've borrowed a ADA8000 to see if my system would manage recording 8 tracks at once (Pentium III, 800Mhz), but the EMU doesn't want to lock properly on to the ADA, the ADA does lock onto the optical signal coming from the EMU (the second setup), but in both setups there seems to be no audio arriving at my input. (I've tried swapping cables but this doesn't seem to help. I'm sure the ADA8000 works properly, and because my the SPDIF optical signal works, I guess my cables and the EMU hardware is working flawless, that said I still don't know where the audio is gone to? Anyhelp would be verry welcome. Thanks Simeon |
