[SOLVED] Audigy 2 ZS problems - please help!
I have the Audigy 2 ZS sound card with Logitech 5.1 speakers, and am running it on windows xp pro. I had been just using the computer the last 2-3 years for music and movies but just recently I re-connected it to the internet and I installed Service Pack 2 and 3. Ever since installing those the sound has been all messed up.
When I do a sound check by channel, front left comes out the front right speaker, same with the rear, and then nothing for the other side. SO, basically I only get channel checks from front left and rear left coming out the opposite side. Center still works per normal. I re-installed the drivers, the updated drivers, same problem. I uninstalled the service packs, same problem. I re-installed windows xp pro, and did not upgrade to the service packs, and re-installed the audigy 2 zs drivers from the cd like i had years ago, and still the same problem. Does anyone have any ideas or have seen this? I have tried all the standard things, going into all the sound controls, checking volume levels, checking 5.1 selected, etc. Not sure why it won't work how it did before. All speakers are fine when you switch the speaker wires. Currently use the analog output. Any help would be appreciated! ![]() Last edited by corsair2002 : 07-14-2008 at 09:13 AM. |

Re: Audigy 2 ZS problems - please help!
Welcome to TSF.
![]() I have an Audigy 2 and just reinstalled XP and Vista with service packs. No problems with the speakers (except that I accidentally disconnected the front left - took me 2 hours to troubleshoot ).So, I don't think it's the driver or service packs. More likely mixed up speaker connections. Have you tried with headphones and sliding the balance control to check? |

Re: Audigy 2 ZS problems - please help!
Solved it! This might help other people who had a similar problem. I saved my personal files on an external hard drive, then reinstalled windows. I then upgraded windows to the latest service pack. And then finally I installed the latest drivers for Audigy 2 zs off the internet. The same result could probably be reached if you uninstalled all the sound drivers and then used a driver cleaner program to completely wipe out the old drivers before installing the new ones. Works 4.0 now.
