installed xp pro now no sound
i thought it may have been the onboard sound just messing up since in device manager it showed an exclamation mark by it but the drivers and system were up to date so i installed a generic PCI sound card (will repost the name of it when i am near the comp again) and installed the newest drivers for it checked device manager disabled the onboard sound and the new card seemed to have no issues had my sound icon in the tray and everything seemed well but still no sound also the comp it is in was found and has no numbers name symbol or anything so no clue as to what the system was the sound is not muted anywhere and i just cant seem to figure this one out so any help regarding this would be appreciated thanks :)

also it is not my comp i put it together for a friend when found the only things gone were the hard drive and dvd drive ( didnt have a spare so installed a old cd drive)
