Surround sound problem
I have a asus pk5 motherboard installed with an onboard realtek sound card (i think). And i connected it with a coaxial cable to my amplifier, but i only get sound from my front speakers...

I take it that the realtek is all set up to output in 5.1? What amp and speaker set up are you using?

Yes I did set up my soundcard for digital 5.1 output, and I have tried everything on my amp from dts, dolby digital to 5.1 stereo but the only sound i get is from the front speakers...

Is the sound source 5.1?
If your playing an mp3 its only going to come out stero speakers unless you switch it to some sort of virtual 5.1 Try playing a DVD or getting into the audio settings in control panel and trying to get a test tone out of all the speakers. |
