No Sound What So Ever
Hi there. I'm in a real stump. The sound stuff worked FINE yesterday, but turned the PC on today and Poof... no sound.
I've tried reading up passed information from other threads but so far, I've had no leads as to what is going on. When I turn on the computer, the Volume Icon doesn't show up like it normally does and then I manually bring it up, choices of being able to change the volume, set it on mute and so on are disabled. In the Hardware Tab, there was a device previously called Kernel Wave Audio Mixer, however now it is shown as 'Unknown'. I've been to Device Manager and tried to uninstall and reinstall it, but so far no luck with having any sound. PC- Specs. Computer: Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional OS Service Pack Service Pack 2 Intel(R) Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz, 2GB RAM Display: Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (512 MB) Monitor Plug and Play Monitor [NoDB] (HMCQ200502) And I've attached a report of Everest on the Audio part. I'd appreciate all the help that you guys can offer to me and I'll be forever grateful. ![]() |
