You could get a USB wireless. You will not notice a problem with the wireless, but you will with the sound. I have experienced skipping audio from USB sound devices when there is a high load on the system resources.

The only problems you may encounter, but only if the product is cheap or defective would be:
-Sound Skipping Other USB devices could cause hiccups in the bus as it is shared in most systems. -Sound Latency Sounds are heard later than they should be, and the latency is inconsistent in some cases causing disorientation in games where headphones are used. If you are buying a known brand, then you should have a good experience with the product you bought. |

Re: should i get this USB Sound Card?
Also, the PC card slot sound cards are not so good, unless they are specifically designed to encompass frequent changes in CPU clock speed.
Modern laptops throttle the CPU down when in idle to save power, and if you are listening to audio, you will hear clicks and pops when this happens. I would think that the same would apply to USB audio interfaces, but then again, maybe this problem JUST applies to the Dell Inspiron 1720. ![]() A quick solution would be to run in the "Always On" power profile which keeps the CPU at its max clock speed.
