Re: Sound Card problems!!!!
Welcome to TSF.
![]() Did you uninstall the onboard sound before you installed the card? If not, there will be a conflict. Go to Control panel >> Add or remove programs. Uninstall the onboard sound software (Realtek, Soundman etc). Then restart the computer and enter BIOS >> disable onboard sound (under Integrated peripherals, or something similar). Also - make sure the sound card is set to default. Please see this: Sound problems? Try these things first. If you need more help - include the brand/model of the computer (motherboard) in your next post. |

Re: Sound Card problems!!!!
Any yellow or red "marks" in device manager? (click View >> Show hidden devices)
Download and run Everest. That program will produce a list of what's inside your computer. In Everest press the "Report" menu - then "Quick report - All pages > Plain text. Save the report. Please post back, with that report as an attachment. How to post an attachment. |

Re: Sound Card problems!!!!
It's pretty easy to install XP - but you will, of course, need a Windows CD.
Reinstalling Windows + hardware drivers will most likely solve the problem. If it's a brand computer you can order new discs from the computer company. |
