soundcard problem (sound doesn't work)[MOVED FROM WINDOWS]
hey everyone!
![]() this is my first time on this forum. i have found it through google while searching for an answer to my problem. i am not even sure im posting in the right area, but anyway. my problem is as follows: two days ago, when i turned on my computer, sound simply didn't work. i have checked the control panel (sounds and settings) and it says "no audio device avalible". i have tried reinstalling the driver, but that didn't work. i have an almost new creative soundblaster audigy 4 soundcard. my other computer specifications are: windows xp professional service pack 2 768mb ram amd athlon 2000mhz (1.27ghz) what else can i try, to make it work again? any suggestions are welcome! |

Re: soundcard problem (sound doesn't work)[MOVED FROM WINDOWS]
Welcome to TSF.
![]() Look in Device manager (To open Device manager: Click Start >> Run >> Type devmgmt.msc and click OK). Click View >> Show hidden devices. Any yellow or red "marks" in device manager? Also - make sure the audio has been started by Windows: Click Start > Run > type services.msc - then click OK. In the new window - Scroll down to "Windows Audio", right-click on it and select Properties. Another new window - set the startup type to Automatic, click Apply and then click Start. What motherboard do you have? Have a look at this: Sound problems? Try these things first. |
