Only 2 out of 5.1 working

i jus installd a creative inspire 5.1 on my system
nd along with a creative sound blaster audigy card with upto 7.1 support

in d speaker settings al d 5 speakers seem to be working
buts as soon as i play a song or a video
only 2 of dem are working
both front speakers

neither of d rear seems to give o/p

i hv a Asus P5Wdh deluxe motherboard
vista 32bit ultimate

ny suggestions plzzzzz

well if we both have the same problem, but different motherboards and different operating systems, we can pretty much rule them out .. we do have sound cards of the same make though, even though mine's Live! and yours is Sound blaster ... hmm .. maybe it's some really obscure obvious thing we've both missed .. i wish someomne on this forum would reply ... it's more dead than bruce forsythes love life ...

right, I AM NOT AN EXPERT, but go too control panel, then audiohq; then click speaker, and see if it lets you change from 2.1. if so, change too 5.1 .. it's got me stuck on 2.1 even though i have a 5.1 sound card -_-.

Have either one of you disabled the on board sound in bios and uninstalled the motherboard sound drivers ?

well i hv d control panes audio device set 2 5.1
and d 5 speakers test right dere

but d prob comes wen i try nd play it thru a player
ny music video etc
jus comes thru 2 of dem

nd i'l try doin d bios one
nd rep
