Ever since I bought a 160 GB external hard drive and installed itunes, my computer has experienced audio and video skipping, not only in itunes, but any time audio or video is accessed both on and offline. Also, my computer has been generally running painfully slow in loading programs and basically everything else.
Ive tried defragging, disabling some startup items, constantly clearing out my temporary internet files, recycle bin, and history, and running virus detection software. This has been going on for the past three weeks, and I feel that there is some correlation at least with the installation of itunes, as I've experienced nothing like this before with this computer, which I've owned for two years. I've also thought that it might be because I also have Windows Media Player, Realplayer, and Quicktime installed as well, but I'm not sure myself and wouldn't want to uninstall something unnecessarily. ![]() Any suggestions would be immensely appreciated! |

Re: Audio and Video Skipping; General Computer Lagging
Welcome to TSF.
![]() Yes, iTunes is known to cause problems. See if removing it helps. See what processes are running when you play a media file. Process explorer is a good program to see what's going on. |
