sound?

Hi can anyone tell me if my MOBO has no built in audio, will a sound card give it sound, thanks, sorry if its a stupid question but i have not got much idea with pc's just the basic's user bit many thanks, BB

If the mobo doesnt have a sound card, then yes you need to buy a sperate sound card that is compatable with the mobo to have sound. By compatable it is usually just the type of conection that the mobo will have, something like PCI, PCI express, etc. There shouldn't be anything else you need just for basic sound (besides the speakers).

IF it is for Vista, just make sure it has a driver tht supports vista, which is becomingless of a problem now I believe.
